In January 2005 Gary tutored at the university of southern queensland at the Mcregor Summer Art School where he met the artist Brian Alison. It was Brians suggestions that lead Garu to carisbrooke station

A series of works completed in the studio after a road trip to carisbrooke station 60km west of Winton, Western Queensland. The time in camp was cut short as 70mm of rain hit the area and Gary had to abandon camp in fear of getting stuck in severe mud. The journey back inland down from Longreach was a challenge as rain hammered all the way to the NSW border. Delshan Gallery in Melbourne exhibited this series in February 2008
