Jugiong Series is Gary Miles 34th Solo Exhibition. The Jugiong Series consists of 13 Mixed Media Works on Paper painted on site and 11 larger Oil on Linen Paintings painted in Miles studio. Jugiong NSW is a small historical town just off the Hume Hughway 27 kms north of Gundagai. The Jugiong Series was motivated by reading letters written between the great painters Brett Whitely and his mentor Lloyd Rees reminiscing about their Jugiong painting trip together and the inspirational landscape around that region that resulted in some of their greatest paintings. Jugiong has worked its magic on Gary Miles Jugiong Series as there is a wonderful energy and depth of colour in the paintings that evokes and emotive response
